A Call to the Masters: Shape the Future of Pakistani Theatre

This is not merely a job opening; it is a summons for the torchbearers of the performing arts to take their place at the helm of Pakistan’s most prestigious theatre institution. The National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) is seeking to enrich its faculty with seasoned maestros who are not just teachers, but living repositories of theatrical knowledge and practice. This is a rare chance for veteran artists and educators to mentor, inspire, and mold the future of the Pakistani stage.

The roles on offer span the entire spectrum of theatrical creation. For the performance-focused disciplines like Acting, Movement, Voice, and Improv, NAPA is searching for practitioners who understand the art of embodied performance—individuals trained in renowned methodologies who can guide students to transform their physical and vocal instruments. The inclusion of Urdu Adab and History of Theatre underscores a commitment to deep intellectual and cultural grounding, seeking faculty who can connect contemporary practice with rich literary traditions and global theatrical heritage.

Furthermore, the call for experts in technical theatre and scenography—including Stage Craft, Set Design, Lighting, Makeup, and Costume Design—highlights NAPA’s dedication to the holistic nature of stage production. These roles are for the visual storytellers, the architects of atmosphere who understand that the magic of theatre lies as much in what is seen as what is said. Candidates with a background from globally recognized conservatories like the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) or the National School of Drama (NSD) will find themselves among peers who speak the same language of artistic rigor and professional excellence. The requirement of 7-10 years of professional practice ensures that the faculty is composed of individuals who have not only studied their craft but have lived it on professional stages. This is your opportunity to pass on a legacy, to contribute to the vibrant and evolving narrative of theatre in Pakistan.
