Shape Pakistan’s Economic Future: Join the National Economic Transformation Unit
The Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives has launched a strategic initiative to accelerate Pakistan’s economic growth through the National Economic Transformation & 5Es Unit (NETU). This is a call to action for the nation’s brightest minds and most experienced experts to join a high-level think tank and policy implementation unit. These are not just advisory roles; they are dynamic positions for specialists who will actively shape national policies, drive sectoral development, and unlock Pakistan’s vast economic potential. The available positions are for subject-matter experts who can provide the intellectual firepower needed to transform key sectors of the economy.
The specialists will tackle some of Pakistan’s most pressing and promising economic areas. The Food Security Specialist will focus on developing resilient agricultural value chains and promoting sustainable agriculture to ensure the nation’s food supply is secure and its agri-based exports are competitive. The Manpower Specialist will address the critical challenge of human capital development, devising strategies for workforce planning and skill enhancement to meet the demands of a modern economy. This role is central to bridging the gap between education and employment, fostering a productive and globally competitive workforce.
NETU is also venturing into new frontiers of economic growth. The Blue Economy Specialist will explore Pakistan’s untapped maritime potential, creating frameworks for sustainable development in fisheries, coastal tourism, and marine resources. The Mineral Specialist will work to transform the country’s rich mineral wealth into tangible economic benefits, focusing on attracting investment, improving regulatory compliance, and promoting sustainable mining practices. Recognizing the global rise of the knowledge economy, the Creative Industry Specialist will champion sectors like film, music, and digital arts, developing policies to boost creative exports and generate employment.
Underpinning all these efforts, the Communication and Outreach Officer will craft the narrative of economic reform, managing public relations and strategic communications to build consensus and showcase Pakistan’s progress to both domestic and international audiences. This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of national policymaking and leave a lasting mark on Pakistan’s economic trajectory.
